OK, girls, as i promised let's talk about powder.
In summer many women prefer to use powder instead of foudation- this can be a right desision if it makes your skin feel good. According to it's tiny fractions it lets your skin "breath". But which powder should you choose- loose or compact? Let's see into it.
Most makeup artists advise to use loose powder. Why? Because of the application's thikness. They mostly use professional brushes for application which can make the layer of powder on the face much smoother and thinner. My favourite brush is NARS Loose Powder Brush. Brushes by Bobbi Brown and Kabuki Brushes are pretty good too. Loose Powder on the foundation also helps your skin to look mat if necessary, don't forget, that in case you have oily skin modern cosmetic products may contain Zinc in order to absorb natural skin fat and dry it. If you prefer to apply powder without foundation- that's ok, but wait a little after you have applied your day cream untill you have it fully absorbed otherwise you'll face a problem of spots of powder on your face.
I feel like I must make a little remark here. Many girls who ask me questions about makeup say that if they do everything like the MUA said, apply a moisturizing cream, then a primer, then a foundation, blushes, and also loose powder- it makes them feel like they are wearing a sandwich on their faces. Sure, yes, application of so much cosmetics can make you feel as if you're wearing a mask on you face and this can be pretty uncomfortable. How should you proceed than? Do what you think is better for you. All recommendations given by professionals are not strong rules to follow in your everyday life. For example if a stylist says that you bag should nesessarily fit your shoes this doesn't mean you must take it as a rule and never leave home if your shoes are red and your bag is green. As to me I can go out wearing a full makeup (mostly in the evening or to party), without makeup (if I have to buy toilet paper=), or just with foundation, or just with powder on my face. In summer I enjoy using a BB Matte Cream SPF 20 by Missha without any foundaion or powder, but don't tell anyone 'cos this product is mostly used as a basis for foudation =)
All right, here we go closer to compact, pressed powder. What about it? First of all the result of using it is nearly the same. But the main advantage is that you can simply take it with you when you go out. Ah, and it usually contains a mirror, what a useful thing hah)) It can be applied with a puff or a sponge. And I repeat if you're fully satisfied with your compact powder and it gives you suitable coverage- do it.
The next thing I'd like to discuss is bronzer, but this is a subject for the next post.)
